Job Title: Jr. Cyber Security
Location: Remote (Occasional onsite in Maryland – Greater Baltimore Area)
Citizenship Requirement:  U.S. Citizen only
Travel: Occasional travel within the State of Maryland 

Job Summary:
We are seeking a Jr. Cyber security to support the Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT) in the development and implementation of robust Multilevel Security (MLS) systems. The ideal candidate will possess experience in security architecture, risk analysis, firewall administration, vulnerability assessment, and SIEM monitoring. This role is essential for strengthening MDOT’s IT security posture and requires a mix of hands-on engineering, analysis, and supervision in an enterprise IT environment.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze and define security requirements related to Multilevel Security (MLS) issues.
  • Design, develop, and implement security solutions that meet MLS requirements.
  • Gather, assess, and organize technical data related to security goals, organizational needs, and ongoing MLS programs.
  • Perform security risk analysis and assessments across systems and applications.
  • Supervise and provide daily technical direction to junior staff or contractors.
  • Support incident response processes and execute initial triage using security tools and data.
Security Tools & Technologies in Use 
  • Firewalls: Palo Alto Networks, Cisco ASA, Cisco FTD (Next-Gen Firewalls)
  • SIEM: Azure Sentinel
  • Vulnerability Assessment: Nexpose
  • Network Access Control: ForeScout CounterAct
  • VPN: Cisco ASA / FTD
  • Wireless Security: Aruba ClearPass Policy Manager (CPPM)
  • Authentication: Entrust (Two-Factor Authentication)
Technical Qualifications & Required Experience:
Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Master’s degree preferred.
